One To One Dog Training

About Kate

I began my career working with animals after graduating from Bicton College with a Higher National Diploma in Animal Care in 2000.

I then went on to work as an Animal Care Assistant at the RSPCA. I dedicated 16 years looking after and rehoming a variety of animals in that time.

My last 10 years working at the RSPCA were spent specialising working with different breeds, and temperaments of dogs. Many of which had differing behavioural issues and training needs. This has given me immense pleasure and reward helping many dogs find their forever home.

Working with the charity was a very rewarding job and this is where my passion for dog training and behaviour really started.

Having already completed numerous RSPCA training over the years, in 2019 I completed the Pro Dog Trainer course with Absolute Dogs and qualified as a Pro Dog Trainer.

What I do

I offer one to one positive reward based training, where we focus on strengthening your relationship with your dog as well as improving communication and understanding.

I do this by incorporating fun training games and play to help teach your dog essential life skills, helping your dog to cope emotionally with real life situations.

For example if you have a nervous dog, we would teach and play confidence and optimism games to help your dog to be able to cope with day to day activities happening around them.
Another example is, if your dog is really strong and pulls on the lead while walking we would teach and play focus and proximity games, so your dog will interact with you, instead of his or her immediate environment. These are just a few simple examples that I can help you with.

When your dog struggles in certain situations it is often very stressful for you and your dog.

However I am here to help as I really care about you and your dog having the best life together.

By working together you can turn your dog’s struggles into their strengths and get the real life results you need, putting an end to the stress for both of you and bringing back all the enjoyment of having your dog again. Best of all, it’s all achieved by having lots of fun and play together.

Working together, we can solve issues such as…
  • Pulling on the lead

  • Struggles with recall

  • Worried about new environments and/or people

  • Barking at other dogs and/or people

  • Puppy life skills such as jumping up, mouthing, chewing and house training etc

  • Aggression to other dogs and/or people

  • Multi-dog household issues

  • Separation anxiety

…or any other struggles you may be experiencing. Please get in touch, as I would love to help!
